Autour d'une Cabine or Around A Cabin is a short animated film directed by Charles-Émile Reynaud. It was part of the Pantomimes Lumineuses (Luminous Pantomime) series shown in his Théâtre Optique at Musée Grévin in Paris, France in 1894. It is one of the earliest animated films to be screened in public. The film comprised of 636 hand-painted images.
The story in brief:
The animation revolves around a series of (mis)adventure of a couple on a beach. They are seen diving in the water from the diving board and having fun. Then the man goes to change into bathing suit while the lady plays with a dog on the beach. Meanwhile another gentleman comes and joins the lady. After a whie the lady goes inside one of the beach huts to change into her bathing costume and the gentleman tries to peek inside the cabin. He got punished for his act and after he departs the couple again enjoys swimming in the water.
