Kinken chochiku Shiobara Tasuke / 勤倹貯蓄 塩原多助 is an early Japanese silent anime film. This animated movie was released in 1925 and was directed by Hakuzan Kimura. After the release of this film Hakuzan Kimura started getting commissions to make films for the Ministry of Education.

This short anime film is based on the famous kabuki tale 'Shiobara Tasuke ichitai-ki' (The Life Story of Shiobara Tasuke). It is a true story which shows the importance of hard work. It tells the story of a young farmer named Shiobara Tasuke who leaves his village and comes to town where he works hard and improves his life. Watch the film to see his transformation from a farmer to a store-owner.
