প্রথম টগর ফুল
বিশ্ব জুড়ে মারণ ব্যাধি
জীবন নিয়ে খেলছে,
সেই অসময়ে ছোট্ট গাছে
প্রথম কুঁড়িটি ফুটছে ।
মানুষের আজ নিদারুণ হাল
ঘর-বন্দী যে দিনরাত্রি ।
প্রকৃতি চলছে নিজের ছন্দে
অনন্ত পথের যাত্রী ।
শোকের কালো ছায়ায় যখন
মোদের জীবন ঢাকছে,
বনমিতার টগর দেখো
রোদের সোহাগ মাখছে ।
প্রথম ফুলের সোনার হাসি
ভুলিয়ে দিল দুঃখ রাশি ।
নতুন আশা জাগালো মনে
“সুসময় আবার আসবে”, বলে ।

I got a bonsai pinwheel flower or crepe jasmine sapling this February from the Facebook group “Bonomita” at the Annual Flower Fair. At that time our life was normal, Corona hasn’t reached our city. After a few months when the tiny little plant had it’s first bloom I was highly overjoyed. The fact that when the world has come to a stand-still and thousands of people losing their near ones due to a pandemic, new life is still budding is what made me write these verses.
