গুণীর কদর
এই দুনিয়া আজব রে হায়,
গুণের হিসাব হয় যে টাকায় ।
ছবি আঁকা – “পারে যে সবাই ।”
গল্প লেখা – “পড়ে ক’ জনায় ?”
সেলাই ফোড়াই – “কাজের নাকি ?”
কাঠে খোদাই – “কোথায় রাখি ?”
মৃৎশিল্প – “কে কেনে গো ?”
বাচিকশিল্প – “দাম নেইকো ।”
গানের গলা – “অঢেল আছে ।”
নাচের ছন্দ – “লাগে না কাজে ।”
খেলাধূলো – “খালি ফাঁকি ।”
যোগব্যায়াম – “বাবাজী নাকি ?”
সিনেমা কিংবা নাট্যচর্চা –
আছে তাতে শুধুই কেচ্ছা ।
মোটা টাকা আনলে ঘরে
তবেই গুণের কদর পাবে ।
থাকলে টাকা মাথায় তোলে
নয়তো হেলায় দূরে ঠেলে ।
কবে সে দিন আসবে ভবে
গুণীর কদর করবে সবে ।

In today’s world it’s very hard to pursue your passion unless you are making profit out of it. One is either mocked or demotivated. Many talents are lost because of this. It’s very common to hear people say “What’s the use of doing this if you are not making money out of it?”. Had everyone thought like this then we wouldn’t have got any artists, writers, sportsperson. There would have been no creative outputs. Hope this mindset changes and the future generation can continue unleashing their talents without any obtrusion.
