Mrs Fernandes Bakes A Cake
Old Mrs. Fernandes
Went to the market
To get some cheese.
She also bought some strawberries
Along with some sweet cherries.
Coming back home she
Headed to the kitchen.
Took out her saucepan
And her oven mitten.
She mixed crumbs with sugar n butter.
Filled half of the pan with this batter.
She baked it in oven and
Kept it to cool.
While beating the cheese
With a large spoon.
She added sugar, salt into the cheese
Also mixed vanilla essence, egg and sour cream.
Over the crust she poured the filling,
Into the oven she put it for baking.
Meanwhile some strawberry
puree she made.
When the cake was ready
On the top she spread.
Getting a call she went to pick the phone,
Keeping the cake near the window all alone.
When she returned to her dismay
She saw little birdies around the tray.
There were two sparrows and a jay
Pecking the cake and eating away.
A magpie also
Joined the feast,
Eating on its own,
Bothered the least.
Old Mrs. Fernandes couldn’t be happier more,
Smiling gently she closed the kitchen door.
