Das Ornament des verliebten Herzens (The Ornament of a Loving Heart / The Ornament of the Enamoured Heart in English) is a German silent animation movie released in the year 1919. It marks Lotte Reiniger’s directorial debut in animated filmmaking. This animated feature film was made using silhouette animation technique invented by Lotte Reiniger. She used cardboard cutouts and thin lead sheet cutouts. Like shadow puppets she animated them frame by frame.
